La Dispensa ARMATORE | Tonno rosso e Alici - Cetara

A fantastic Italian restaurant with a great shaded seaside view of the Cetara coast. I recommend trying the tasting menu. The dishes were intricately tasty and creative, particularly the octopus with mashed potatoes and the sea bass. Excellent service. The waitress took the time to translate and explain all the ingredients and details in the entrees. She checked up with us every serving.

We had an amazing time here for our last night in Cetara! The tasting menu was a very fair price and each of the three courses was a good amount of food. Each dish was very fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. Delicious food and wine, plus a complementary snack of the local delicacy - marinated anchovies - wonderful! We were very full by the end of our meal and would definitely return to this charming place! Two nights later, at a restaurant/cafe in Rome, we saw the Armatore brand products for sale, too! Glad to see they are becoming more well-known across Italy!

Came here because of the good reviews, however, left feeling very disappointed with the dining experience. Despite the tasting menu having a fixed price (€35), they charged each plate individually, significantly increasing the cost. At the advertised price the food would have been good, but not so much for the actual cost. They do have a nice view of the water at night. However, if you don't mind forgoing this, I would recommend going to one of the restaurants further up the street. The food is just a good and they don't overcharge you.

The restaurant was wonderful. We went for the tasting menu and ordered a started, a first and second dish. We started with some tartar which was very nice. It was my first time trying tartar and I thought it was wonderful. Our first plate was risotto and the anchovy pasta. Both were fantastic. Finishing off with the second plate, salmon was very nicely done and the Sea Bass had some nice earthy flavor mixed with the fishy bass. Overall, great, but flavors were a bit muted. Nothing that made the taste buds explode, but wonderful food overall.

Me and my partner went here on our first night as it seemed like the best option in town and at the higher price point we expected more. The balcony tables have a view over the local park and beach which can get quite busy on the weekend. The service was very accommodating and they tried their best to explain in English each dish and the menu which we appreciated. However, compared to other options that we tried later in the week in Cetara, the food offerings here were quite bland in comparison, and the portion size is very small. It seems that salt is the only flavour they offer. Sure the local anchovies are delicious, but rest of the menu lacked a diversity of flavours to be honest.

Cetara is an incredibly charming town, known for its tuna and anchovies. We had never been and were lucky enough to stop at this little gem. Even though the kitchen was closed when we arrived at 11 a.m., they greeted us warmly and seated us at their beautiful front terrace overlooking the water and the town square. We had a lovely glass of sparkling rose (and ordered more later!) and they brought their signature anchovies and bread for us to try. After we learned the kitchen wasn’t open, they offered to still prepare a small dish of their tuna for us to try. It was incredible. So simple and delicious. Definitely stop in to taste the best this village has to offer (away from the crowds too!). Thank you Armatore!

First things first: to even get to sit there at a very beautiful spot but with a lot of parking cars as well you will have to go online and book a table (even if you switch the language to English there is a lot of Italian you are supposed to understand). If you don't do that they will send you away. If this is due to Covid19 is unknown but should be made clear if so. At the table you will need your mobile device (+Internet) again to be able to see what's on the menu. This should be stated while booking as well. They gave us a really nice starter with lemon and fish. The food and the wine were quite good but not as excellent as what other restaurants have/had to offer there. 3 out of 6 plates were rather boring and lacking character. But the other 3 were very delicious. There are no sweet dishes at the end to finish your menu but you have enough people selling ice cream and pastry in town (Cetara) to satisfy your sweet tooth. The natural water came in a reusable can as a solution against too much waste. What's wrong with glass? Or the good tap water in town? Also: there was no glass of water coming with any of our glasses of wine (white/red). I still recommend to go there, but I would favor other restaurants in Cetara first.
